Suspension of Time

This analysis inspects the social side of Lincoln's Railway and how it interacts with the city.

The level crossings were indentified as a barrier to the city making the railway system of more importance than pedestrian or road users. Development from this found that the time spent waiting at the crossing actually brought about opportunities, and a study into what activities arise was carried out.
From the perspective of a passenger on the train these images depict the journey to Lincoln Station. The railway cuts through the centre of the city but the land directly adjacent to the track is unused and derelict. This gives a much different image of the city.
When on board the train we are standardised. Given equal value as luggage; sharing dialogue with both interior and exterior environments.
This section has shown that instead of the railway being a barrier it can equally become a place of opportunity where the suspension of time can allow us to connect to other networks or do different activities.
